Good designs can be beautiful and protective at the same time, and that is exactly what Sew and Zo delivers. Run by Zoe in Scotland, this small business exists to make life with tubes and ports softer, safer and less medical. I have only spoken with Zoe online, yet she has been consistently kind, polite and incredibly attentive. Her care shows in the little things, from fabric choice to neat stitching, and in the way she listens to what people actually need.
Zoe makes a wider range of thoughtful accessories, including stoma covers and drainage bag covers. In this review I am focusing on the three I use day to day, tubie pads, tubie clips and port covers. Everything is made from robust, skin kind materials with antibacterial qualities, designed to stand up to daily wear and washing. The attention to detail is incredible and the designs genuinely lift the mood, think sweet florals, bows and even dinosaurs that make medical life feel more personal.
I have tried multiple brands of port covers, tubie pads and clips over the years. Sew and Zo is the one that consistently lasts, does not break, helps keep infections out by absorbing fluid where it matters, and arrives as the softest, best made option every single time. The range of designs is wonderful, but it is the reliability that keeps me coming back. I even keep a spare pad and clip in my handbag because they have saved me more than once on busy days.
Eight years ago, I would not have known what these products were. Now they are essentials. The port cover helps reduce the risk of bacteria reaching my lines and tubes each day. The tubie pad cushions and protects my stoma, it has dramatically reduced infections for me by absorbing fluids, stopping abrasions and preventing leaks on my clothes. The tubie clip secures giving sets and tubing to my clothing so a line is not tugged or pulled. I have had a tube pulled once which led to operations, hospital stays and months of pain. These simple, well-made items help prevent that.
